~One of those awkward, "coming out of a kiss" photos~
Eric and I decided last minute to drive 3 1/2 hours to meet my family at Lagoon as well as his sister. It was seriously one of the most fun things we have done in a while. I have never seen it rain so hard for so long, it was kind of awesome (even though we came home soaked). After this experience I came up with 3 things that I think everybody should do sometime during their life time.
- Decide to do something completely spontaneous! - It's not really like Eric and I to just drop everything and go do something crazy at the last minute. The fact that this trip was so spontaneous is what made it SO much fun! If you ever get the chance to just wake up, decide you want to go somewhere, and start driving, do it! There are so many memories to be made if you are willing to get out of your comfort zone! :)
- If you have never experienced an amusement park in the pouring rain, you NEED to! - The park was pretty much empty the whole day, so we were able to walk onto pretty much any ride! I have never been to an amusement park where it was raining that hard before, and I had a BLAST! I really didn't think I'd enjoy myself that much, but there was a lot to enjoy during this trip. Just make sure you bring a poncho ;) P.S. Because it was declared a rain day, we now can go back and use our tickets again and get in for free! (If that's not enough to get you there, I don't know what is.)
- Don't be afraid to be yourself in a big crowd of people! - My Dad was a total hoot! When he first started acting all crazy I was a bit embarrassed, but I realized that it shouldn't matter what people think and I started to join in on the silliness. It has been a while since Eric and I have laughed that hard! Just be yourself, be loud, and have fun!
Finally, I want to share a funny story that happened while we were there! So Eric, me, and our niece were getting on the Terror Ride, and it broke down so we had to wait for it to get back up and running. Once it started back up, I noticed a REAL MAN standing in the ride and it freaked me out! What I didn't know was that he was a worker making sure the car was working and he had started following our car. Towards the end I turned to Eric and said, "Did you see that guy?!" and he said back, "Yeah, he's right behind us." I turned around and he was so close to me! I screamed so loud! He said, "Oh shoot! Sorry!" Eric was laughing SO HARD about it for the rest of the day! It was pretty funny!
The next time you feel like doing something spontaneous, and it's pouring rain outside... DON'T let the rain STOP you from doing it! You never know what fun experiences you may miss out on! :)
That would have totally freaked me out!! Sounds like a fun day!
